Abstract
Purpose:The purpose of this study was to analyze the general characteristics and disaster education status of health center employees, and to determine the relationship between disaster awareness, self-efficacy, teamwork, and disaster preparedness capabilities.

Methods:The data of 179 employees in health centers or health clinics for more than 6 months were collected by using a structured questionnaire to measure disaster awareness, self-efficacy, teamwork, and disaster preparedness capabilities, from January 19 to February 14, 2023. Descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were conducted to identify factors related to disaster preparedness capabilities among health center employees.

Results:The results of the descriptive statistics showed that the disaster awareness level of the participants was distributed in the middle to high level with a mean of 3.49, and the disaster preparedness capacity was measured with a mean of 3.07, which was higher than previous studies that measured disaster preparedness capabilities. Multiple regression analysis showed that, first, disaster awareness increased by 0.24% for each unit of disaster awareness. Second, teamwork increased by 3.33% for each unit of teamwork. Third, disaster preparedness capabilities increased with the number of disaster education programs taken.

Conclusion:It suggests that disaster education for health center employees needs to be conducted periodically in teams with various topics. In addition, since this study favored practical training and lecture- based training, it will need to develop training strategies using such training methods.
